The mysterious TikTok gods have smiled upon She & Him. Eighteen years ago, the indie film star Zooey Deschanel started making music with the indie music star M. Ward. They called themselves She & Him, and the first song that they recorded together was “I Thought I Saw Your Face Today,” a playfully mellow post-breakup song that Deschanel wrote. At the time, She & Him’s debut album Volume One was well-received, and the duo have had a nice run as an intermittently active musical unit. But now, they’re bigger than they’ve ever been. Somehow, the TikTok kids found “I Thought I Saw Your Face Today.”
