The records that the Whitby, Ontario musician Brandon Williams makes under the name Chastity are pretty simple and direct, but it’s hard to put an exact genre tag on them. Heavy emo? Heart-on-sleeve shoegaze? Power-pop that’s drowning in fuzz and also anguish? Chastity’s music sounds like Jesu and the Promise Ring at the same time. I’m very into it.
