Portishead played Coachella one time, back in 2008. Back then, Beth Gibbons didn’t play a whole lot of non-Portishead shows, and certainly didn’t perform often on US soil. But lately she’s been on her first North American solo tour supporting her debut solo album Lives Outgrown, and she brought that tour to Coachella on Saturday.

Kneecap performed at Coachella on Saturday. The Northern Irish rap trio are often outspoken about human rights issues, especially so during their live performances — but you may not have been able to tell from the festival’s livestream! Kneecap said afterwards that their onstage digs at Margaret Thatcher and their support for Palestine were censored during the broadcast.

The weirdest set at Coachella 2025 thus far has been Yo Gabba Gabba!, whose final song — a cover of the Muppets’ “Rainbow Connection” — was crashed by “Weird Al” Yankovic. Also onstage for the song were Thundercat, Portugal. The Man, and Paul Williams; Williams co-wrote the song and performed it on a 2008 Yo Gabba Gabba! episode.

Lizzo was the musical guest on SNL for the fourth time Saturday night, with Jon Hamm also hosting for the fourth time (though he’s made many a cameo). Lizzo performed a medley of “Love In Real Life” and “Still Bad” while wearing a shirt that read “Tarrified,” before debuting a new ballad called “Don’t Make Me Love You.”
