Naming your band How Strange It Is must be some kind of indie-rock sleeper cell activation, but the Portland combo is playing it coy by not naming their debut album To Be Anything At All. Instead, the record is called There Is No Evil, and judging by how successfully lead single “Slime” applied a shoegaze exterior to plucky Shins-meets-AnCo pop-rock, it’s going to be worth hearing. We get another preview today in the form of “Tough Luck,” which is sort of a Sparklehorse song for the Alex G era. It’s good, so listen below.
