Jimmy Eat World Announce Bleed American 25th Anniversary Tour With Sunny Day Real Estate, PUP, & More

Arizona emo heroes Jimmy Eat World didn’t have a label when they released their 2001 album Bleed American. Their previous album, 1999’s Clarity, was a straight-up classic that sold jack shit upon release, and it got the band dropped from Capitol. Undaunted, the band spent their own money making an album full of towering, sincere hooks. It didn’t blow up when it first came out that summer, and they briefly had to drop the title and turn it into a self-titled record in the wake of 9/11. But then the single “The Middle” took off, became a crossover smash, and sent the album to platinum status. It’s a great record that led to a great moment for a great band.
