If you know anything about Long Odds, you know the warm and fuzzy indie rock project is led by Adam Elliott, drummer and vocalist for the recently reunited Times New Viking. We reminded you as much when we posted “Faorah,” the lead single from Long Odds’ new album The Dry Land. But did you know they also have members of …

Last month, Yard Act ushered in a new era with the announcement of You’re Gonna Need A Little Music, whose lead single “Redeemer” operated as an ominous, existential jam that bleakly stated: “No one is happy with this arrangement.” Now, they’re pivoting to positivity. Yay! Today’s single “New Beginnings” is good, old-fashioned fun. The post Yard Act – “New Beginnings” …

Dari Bay’s awesome new album Surprise Wish arrives this Friday. How do I know it’s awesome? Because all of the singles so far — “The Joke,” “We’re Gonna Be Okay,” and “Chevy” — are bangers. Now, we get a final preview with “On Your Side.” The post Dari Bay – “On Your Side” appeared first on Stereogum.

A few weeks ago, we got an album announcement from Evil Island a new band that features Blood Brothers members Johnny Whitney, Cody Votolato, and Mark Gajadhar. Whitney felt inspired to get the band going after the recent Blood Brothers reunion tour, and the group also features former OFF/…And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead bassist Autry …

Fans have long clamored to hear the material, but when answering fan-submitted questions last year for The Guardian, frontman Chino Moreno said Eros was mostly unfinished and …

This touring shit is serious to Turnstile. The hardcore crew doesn’t want to go on the road with one or two openers; they have too many acts they want to share the stage with. Last year they brought Blood Orange, Mannequin Pussy, Amyl And The Sniffers, Speed, and Jane Remover with them in the US. Now, they’re announcing a North …

If you go see either one of them, you’re pretty much guaranteed a good time. This fall, you might get to see both of them in the same night, since they’ve just announced plans to …

The Adelaide, Australia indie rock band Swapmeet recently made a bunch of noise with their singles “I Know!,” “Sand,” and “2 C U,” and they’re one month away from the release of their full-length debut Mount Zero. Today, they announce a North American tour and share the skittering, whispery new single “Halfway.” It sounds like circa-now bedroom-pop, but with just …

For many years, singer-songwriter Chelsea Wolfe has been making dark, rapturous goth-folk. You can put on her music, and even if you aren’t actively listening, it can reshape the atmosphere of a room, the way that a burning incense stick might. Wolfe’s most recent album She Reaches Out To She Reaches Out To She came out in 2024. These days, …

The Tubs, your jangly, folky British post-punk favorites, announced their signing to Merge Records this past spring by successfully translating Metallica’s classic heavy metal ballad “Fade To Black” into their own signature style. The news came barely a year after Cotton Crown, yet it portended a new album announcement sooner rather than later. Today it has come: Tubs LP3 Hard …
