You might know Micky Dolenz as the sole surviving member of the Monkees, the ultra-popular psychedelic pop act that was assembled to star in a ’60s sitcom. The Monkees’ entire run was fascinating — the most monoculture shit in the world, created to riff on the counterculture, which then became part of the counterculture when the band members wrestled control away from the TV producer who put them together in the first place. But Dolenz is more than just a Monkee. He is also, apparently, enough of a Paul Westerberg head to cover a song that even most Westerberg heads might not recognize.
