It is motherfucking Turnstile season right now. Last week, they dropped their new album Never Enough, and it smacks. Thus far, all the live shows that they’ve played behind the album have been absolute events. They kicked things off with a gigantic free hometown gig at the Baltimore park where I used to walk my dog, and I’ve been kicking myself for not making the three-hour drive up since it happened. At the record-release show under Brooklyn’s K Bridge, Paramore’s Hayley Williams was a surprise guest. This past weekend, I was right up front when they shut down Primavera with a 3AM set. (I can’t say I watched them because I barely looked at the stage. I was in viking mode.) Now, Turnstile have announced a huge US tour with an incredibly cool slate of rotating openers.
