Every Mastodon record has Mastodon on it, but the new pressing of Marrow Deep has mastodon in it. The Atlanta metal legends have announced a new version of their latest album featuring actual mastodon fossils. The records, which will be limited of 170 copies, were pressed at Waxworks Records with help from the University of Georgia’s geology department, using “bone dust” created by grinding down a bag of fossilized mastodon teeth the band received as a gift more than two decades ago.
