Manchester dance-rockers Working Men’s Club released their most recent album Fear Fear in 2022, and we were into it. The great Indianapolis indie poppers Wishy were a Stereogum Band To Watch back in 2023, and they’ve already made good on their potential a few times over. About a month from now, they’ll release their new album Nature’s Pill. This seems to be one of those situations where a huge chunk of the album will already be out in the …

The last time that all four Animal Collective members performed live together was almost exactly four years ago, when they were touring behind Time Skiffs. In the time since then, they’ve been busy, together and separately. AnCo released the album Isn’t It Now?, the soundtrack to Elegance Bratton’s drama The Inspection, and reissues of Sung Tongs and Feels. They contributed …

It’s about the way you can feel …

One night in 2013, I had the privilege of attending the now-defunct Hangout festival on the beach in Gulf Shores, Alabama, with Wonder atop the bill. My knowledge of his catalog is not the deepest, but my greatest-hits-level fandom did not stop me …

They grew up between New Zealand and Hong Kong, and they’ve been making music together under the Purple Pilgrims name for the past 15 years. In that time, they’ve collaborated with people like the Chills and Roy Montgomery, and they’ve toured with …
