Here’s a combination that I, personally did not expect. Nigel Godrich is a British producer best-known for his work with Radiohead and Thom Yorke’s various offshoots, though he’s also produced big records for people like Beck and IDLES. Dhani Harrison is a British musician best-known for being George Harrison’s son, though he’s made plenty of music of his own. Apparently, …

Brennan Wedl’s eponymous debut album arrives next month, and the lead single “Pretty Little Fantasy” was a riot. Today, we’re getting another preview with the laid-back “Let’s Be Models.” The post Brennan Wedl – “Let’s Be Models” appeared first on Stereogum.

Happy 2hollis Day to all who celebrate. The hyperpop rapper is back today with his first new music since last year’s star, which earned a spot on our list of the best albums of 2025. He’s sort of shared songs since then, but only via since-deleted Instagram posts and on SoundCloud under other names. Last month, he sent out a …

London janglers the Tubs are about two months away from releasing their new album Hard Life. This is good news. Right now, the Tubs are among the most dependably tuneful bands on the indie rock landscape. Hopefully, you’ve already heard the very good lead single “Who’s Gonna Love You Now.” Today, they follow it with “Stoop To Me,” a new …

We’re theoretically getting a new Noname record sometime soon, but we still don’t know when. Last year, the hugely gifted, idiosyncratic Chicago rapper announced plans to follow 2023’s Sundial with a new mixtape called Cartoon Radio and shared the single “Hundred Acres.” But Noname didn’t announce a release date back then, and she still hasn’t done it. It’s probably hard …

Victoria Monét is going for it! The Atlanta-born singer started out as one of Ariana Grande’s main co-writers before becoming a straight-up R&B star herself with her excellent 2023 album Jaguar II. She won the Grammy for Best New Artist, and then she largely stepped back for a little while. Earlier this year, Monét shared the slightly sleepy ballad “Let …

Last year, the Californian quasi-hardcore warriors Militarie Gun leaned into their more melodic and alt-rock sides on sophomore album God Save The Gun, sharpening their songwriting skills while still making something physical and exciting. It was one of our favorites of the year. Today, Militarie Gun announce a deluxe version of God Save The Gun with three new tracks. One …

Look at that fucking cover art. Look at it! The dog! The chains! The guy with the ski mask and baseball bat! The car! The font! The contrast! The many incomprehensible design decisions! It’s so ugly! So ugly, in fact, that it might double back around to being beautiful! In any case, it’s exactly how you want a new Pain …

In 2021, three guys in New York founded Nina Protocol, which they positioned as a free, independent music platform, an ethical and DIY-friendly alternative to the corporate streaming services. (One of those three founders is Jack Callahan, of the Stereogum Band To Watch Callahan & Witscher.) In May, Nina Protocol announced plans to shut down, gradually winding down all of …

The clangy, flinty, ruminative Boston DIY indie trio Krill formed in 2010, quickly cranked out three albums, helped inspire a wave of peers, and broke up in 2015. It was a classic case of a band just suddenly stopping mid-groove, and the story always seemed incomplete. Three years after their ending, Krill reunited to play LVL UP’s final show. In …
