The experimental London jazz trio helped define a moment and released three adventurous albums and a handful of EPs before breaking up in 2023. They canceled what would’ve been their final show out of solidarity with Palestinian people, since it would’ve fallen on the day of a one-day global strike called for by Jewish Voice For Peace. Since their breakup, leader Shabaka has thrived as a solo artist. Now, Channel The Spirits, the trio’s full-length debut, is about to get a 10th-anniversary reissue with previously unreleased tracks.
